Operations & Maintenance Planning
What is often forgot is that many other arrangements need to be made in parallel in order to be ready for the operation of the pipeline when the construction is complete. Planning for the start-up of operations is an area where we excel. We provide advisory services in the following areas:
Operations & Maintenance Procedures
Our Operations & Maintenance Procedures adhere to the highest industry standards and practices, and have been developed and continuously improved over 50 years of operations.
The organizational structure of the operating company, including the number and location of required personnel, functional responsibilities, lines of reporting and accountabilities, are all important components that need to be in place. We are able to draw upon the expertise of Enbridge Management, who deal with operational issues on a daily basis, to help their client develop the most efficient and effective organizational structures possible. We assist with the recruitment and assessment of appropriate personnel for the organization.
Training & Qualification
Training your employees is one of the most important investments you can make. Our training programs and courses are designed to impart the knowledge and skills necessary for the efficient and safe operation of today's complex pipeline systems. We provide world-class pipeline training programs for operating companies by conducting training courses, maintaining a large suite of pipeline training products and by capitalizing on our close relationship with the Enbridge Pipelines operating divisions, from which we can utilize highly experienced and qualified professionals to augment or deliver training courses.
A quality Integrity Management Program (IMP) preserves the capital investment in your pipeline system. Based on the same framework that Enbridge Pipelines uses, we provide our clients with the a plan that encompasses all of the tools, technologies, documents and strategies needed to ensure a pipeline system has the strength and operating fitness to operate safety and reliably.
SCADA systems must be widely compatible, flexible and reliable with highly trained personnel. In 1992, after 30 years of developing a wealth of expertise, applications and highly qualified personnel for our own operations, Enbridge developed and implemented a real-time SCADA software called PROCYS. Based on our experience, our team of SCADA specialists can provide you with the services you need, whether it's software, training or advisory services in all areas of SCADA and automation, including control center consolidation.
The provision of spare parts is often overlooked. When it is addressed, it will often be based on the manufacturer's recommended spare parts list. Over our many years of operating pipelines, we have come to appreciate that the manufacturer's recommendations are based on many assumptions about the pipeline operation and represent typical scenarios. Location of the pipeline, environmental conditions and many other factors will have a bearing on how well the typical scenarios match with reality. Our experience can significantly benefit you in developing an appropriate spare parts inventory.
