Management Team

Leigh Cruess has held the position of Senior Vice President, International since September 2006. He has overall responsibility for the International business unit, including the operations of Enbridge Technology Inc.

Prior to assuming his present responsibilities, Leigh was Vice President, Financial Services and was responsible for the Investor Relations, Corporate Tax and Pension Investments groups of Enbridge Inc. In addition he served as Vice President Business Development & Chief Financial Officer of Enbridge Income Fund from May 2005 to September 2006, and as Treasurer of Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P., Enbridge Energy Management Inc., and Enbridge Energy Company Inc. from 2003 to 2005. Leigh was Vice President Corporate Development for Enbridge Inc. from 2000 to 2003.

Leigh has a B.A. (Honours) from Queen's University and an MBA in Finance from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Mr. Bill Trefanenko has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry involving engineering design, construction, project management, operations, integrity and rehabilitation, maintenance, and management in both owner / operator and engineering consulting companies.

Bill is the Director of International Operations and is responsible for the operation of Enbridge Technology Inc., i.e. transferring Enbridge technology around the world, and is also responsible for business development activities to advance the company's equity interests in pipelines and facilities outside of North America.

Bill has significant experience in the international arena, having worked and lived in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Malaysia as well as having worked in many other countries. Mr. Trefanenko holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta.

Phil Michailides is our Manager, Technology Transfer and has over 16 years of varied petroleum industry experience. His career exposure includes pipeline operations, engineering, project management, technical analysis/support, strategic sales/marketing and management.

Prior to joining Enbridge Technology Inc., Phil was the operations manager of several pipeline systems and their respective control centers. He has also managed various pipeline integrity and rehabilitation projects, and participated in several due diligence investigations in the US, South America and Europe.

Phil holds a B.Sc. and an M.Eng. from the University of Alberta and is registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta.

Michael McManus is our Manager, International Engineering, and has over 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His areas of expertise are in project management, pipeline integrity and maintenance, operations, risk management, and conducting engineering asset evaluations. Prior to joining Enbridge International in 2000, he worked for two of the leading natural gas transmission companies in Canada (NOVA and TransCanada).

Mike's international work experience includes performing pipeline advisory, asset acquisition, and consulting project management for projects in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Spain, UK, India, Yemen, China, Japan and Australia. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a registered engineer in the province of Alberta.
