The provision of spare parts is often overlooked. When it is addressed, it will often be based on the manufacturer's recommended spare parts list. Over our many years of operating pipelines, we have come to appreciate that the manufacturer's recommendations are based on many assumptions about the pipeline operation and represent typical scenarios. Location of the pipeline, environmental conditions and many other factors will have a bearing on how well the typical scenarios match with reality. After the pipeline construction phase is completed, it’s time to enter the operation phase of the project. With proper planning and thorough preparations, the project should go smoothly. However, a new pipeline operation can benefit from the involvement of an experienced operator, particularly in the areas of commissioning and start-up.
To ensure a transparent process, the commissioning of a new pipeline system should not be performed by the same party who was responsible for the engineering or construction of the system. We provide independent commissioning services during which we perform the final "audit" function of the pipeline design and construction processes. The entire process is guided by commissioning manuals that ensure nothing is overlooked and a permanent record of the results is maintained.
